I’m Lauren Rochon, a Boston-based creative director and artist. I studied design, began my career as art director in the marketing and advertising world, and now lead a global creative team in asset management.

I have roots in Montreal and New Jersey, two places that have uniquely shaped my perspective (and left me permanently conflicted about bagels). When I’m not working, I make one-of-a-kind skateboard wall art and dabble in interiors—basically anything involving color, composition, and mood. Beautiful environments inspire me, good music moves me, and working with my hands keeps me grounded.

artist statement

My work begins with spontaneity, spray paint, and a blank skateboard deck.

Skateboard decks are my constant. They carry movement, an iconic silhouette, and a nostalgic 90s vibe. Though built to move, they ground my work—the shape never changes, while everything around it does. Each one is created differently, sparked by fleeting moments and shifting moods.

I’m drawn to exploring contrast: finding fun in the ordinary, sophistication in the playful, humor in uncertainty, vibrancy in the dark. I let the process stay open and intuitive, following textures, loud color palettes, and imperfections that make each board feel alive. For me, it’s all about the unexpected details (fishnets… on a skateboard?!) and the quiet absurdity that you could add wheels at any moment and ride it straight out of your living room. Although designed to hang on the wall, my work isn’t meant to sit still (or take itself too seriously)!
