Lauren Rochon is a Boston-based artist and creative director who transforms skateboard decks into one-of-a-kind mixed-media wall art. With roots in New Jersey and Montreal, she is influenced by street art, cultural nostalgia, and a lifelong pull toward contrast. Her work explores fleeting moods and moments through loud color palettes, layered textures, and unexpected materials.

The Mood Boards are created with an energetic balance of intuition, intention, and lots of spray paint. The skateboard decks are the constant: an iconic silhouette, designed for function, rooted in individualism. Intentionally built to move. The contrast—between structure and spontaneity, function and form—is central to grounding the work. (And the artist).

Acrylics, molding paste and metallic foils collide with unexpected details and subtle absurdities make each board the main character in their own moment.  They are designed to feel alive, sometimes unruly, sometimes temporary, with colorful imperfections and a sense of humor. This common ground is why they collectively hang well together. It’s a whole vibe.

Although designed to hang on the wall, the work isn’t meant to sit still. If the mood calls for it, it’s encouraged to add some wheels and ride it out into the world.
